Dear Dance Department Students,

You are invited to participate in the UMass Amherst Mock Audition Project 2026.

This mock audition will be structured as a professional industry call for Doja Cat. The experience is designed to fully immerse you in the expectations, energy, and pressure of a high-level commercial audition.

Dancers will learn choreography, perform in audition groups, and receive direct feedback from a professional panel. This is a high-focus, high-energy environment designed to challenge you artistically and professionally.

Come prepared to perform.

Industry Panel

The audition will be facilitated by members of the UMass Amherst Dance Department faculty and staff.

 

We are also honored to host a special guest from a major New York City dance agency, offering professional industry insight and feedback.

 

This is a serious opportunity to experience a real-world audition atmosphere.

Dress Code – Performance Ready

​

Attire must be:

• Sleek

• Form-fitted

• Body-conscious

• Clean and minimal

• 80s-inspired aesthetic (sharp, powerful, confident)

​

Hair and makeup must be performance-ready upon arrival.

​

Presentation matters. This is part of the audition.

What to Bring in your bag (Required)

​

• Two (2) copies of your resume

• Two (2) headshots

• Heels 

• + sneakers or boots 

• Backup outfit 

• Water

• Light snacks

• Hair and makeup essentials

• Notebook and pen for notes
